O Nox Ultima: The Story

Antonius Carthaginius, son of a Roman senator, conducted the profession of centurion with pitiless, cruel efficiency. Paving his path to glory and advancement with innocent blood, his exploits take him to Judea and to a confrontation with his past that will try his mortal soul. Will he find redemption and forgiveness in this ancient land of the Prophets? Or face holy, righteous justice, paid for in his own blood?

His love, Helena, a noble princess and the sole survivor of the destruction of her village of Eupatoria, is stricken mute by her hate for those who slaughtered her family. If she were to discover the identity of the monster who gave the order to exterminate her people, will she take her vengeance? Or can she forgive the unforgivable? And what will become of her only son, Marcellus, if she fulfills her murderous plans for revenge?

Love or hate? Revenge or forgiveness? The troubled pair will find their answers in the twilight of Passover’s final moments--beneath the long shadow of Golgotha.
